Vasquez Rocks

Vasquez Rocks Natural Area, one of Los Angeles County's most iconic filming locations, draws nearly half a million visitors each year. In an age dominated by influencers, the park faces new pressures, making its conservation efforts more crucial than ever to protect this natural treasure for future generations.

I spent over three years photographing and filming for my first documentary short film, Gritstone, which follows the journey of two Vasquez Rocks Natural Area park employees as they navigate the challenges of balancing creativity and conservation to ensure the park's survival for future generations.
